About the owners

Meet the family that brought mochi donuts and unique flavors to the KC area-

Hi! We’re Johnny and Boggie, the husband-and-wife duo that owns and operates Mr. D's. And meet our twins, Gemma and Maddy!

Since obtaining the donut shop from Johnny's godparents in 2018, we've been able to grow and expand tremendously: from wholesaling, opening Mr. D's Coffee at the Lenexa Public Market, becoming a vendor at the OP Famers’ Market, and many other fun business ventures!

With all this growth, we have been able to introduce new products to reflect our Asian background. We became the first shop in KC to introduce mochi donut rings and serve a regular ube donut. With our rotating flavors and classic donuts, we’ve been lucky to have many regulars who make us a part of their life. We wanted the shop to still feel like home and we’ve continued the tradition to make donuts the same way: handmade, fresh, and paired with locally roasted drip coffee.
